A little Easter recap

We had some very shocking, sad news this week. My Mom phoned very early Thursday morning to tell us that a very dear, close friend had been rushed to the hospital suddenly late the night before. He was in a very poor way in hospital. This was a very sudden illness which tragically took him Thursday morning. He was surrounded by family and friends (Mom was there too thankfully) in hospital when he was 'called home'.

Ian was not only a dear friend for all of these years, I always thought of him as family. I referred to Ian and Angela as my second set of parents since I was little. He will be missed beyond words. His spirit, incredible sense of humour, devotion to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and his support during my lifetime will never be forgotten. We will all miss him very dearly.

Mitten Mission well underway!

I am so incredibly excited!!!!! My Grandma had spread the word to others in her community about our special mission to collect knit goods which I will then send to the orphanage. The buildings often are without heat, and the children are well bundled. Although where Mara-Grace was from is known as being like Eternal Spring, when we travelled (Jan.) it was still quite cold! Spring like yes, but still requiring some good bundling. Anyway, it is my little way of sending some love and warmth!

An angel by the name of Anne sent a large bag of the most gorgeous, handmade sweaters, hats, booties, mittens for our mission. I am touched by her generosity beyond words. What a walking angel! Much love and appreciation for her kindness. xo
